</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>A source with knowledge of the situation tells PFT that Vick "tried his damnedest" to get back in, but NFL rules prevent players diagnosed with concussions from returning to any game. PFT's source also says Vick was "lucid" after the game, which contradicts another report from ESPN's Sal Paolantonio. Reports out of Philly indicate the Eagles are "optimistic" about Vick's chances of playing in Week 3, but that Mike Kafka would get the start if not.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Because he struggled against the Giants' blitzes last season, Vick wants to be involved when OC Marty Mornhinweg installs the game plan in Wednesday's practice. The Eagles don't want to rush Vick back, so they will likely adhere to the NFL's guidelines. Vick will have to pass a series of tests, pass an MRI, and be cleared by an independent neurologist before taking the field. The smart money is on Vick being held out early in the week, but still with a good chance to play on Sunday.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>CSN Philly's Reuben Frank confirms that Vick has passed all of his tests and has been medically cleared to play. Barring a setback, Vick will start in Week 3. The Giants injury-depleted secondary has allowed 11 pass plays of 20+ yards through two games, the fifth-most in the NFL. DC Perry Fewell is sure to blitz Vick heavily, but it's still an attractive matchup.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>"I feel good. I feel great and ready to play, nothing feels different," Vick said. "There's no reason to think that I won't play." Out of an abundance of caution, the Eagles have officially listed Vick as questionable, but unless he wakes up with a headache on Sunday, he will be under center the Giants.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>A source with knowledge of the situation tells ProFootballTalk.com's Mike Florio that Vick will start, and that "the Eagles wanted to hedge against the possibility that Vick would have unexpectedly experienced concussion symptoms on Saturday or Sunday morning," so they listed Vick as questionable despite it being obvious that he was ready to play against the Giants. We have Vick as our No. 5 ranked quarterback play against a struggling New York secondary.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>"It’s sore, it’s still swollen," Vick conceded, making no promises about his Week 4 status. "With rehab we’ll see how it recovers and how well it gets." A deep bone bruise is better news than a fracture, but still something that could take a week to recover from. Vick is keeping the hand wrapped in heavy ice. It's possible that the Eagles believe they could beat the 49ers without Vick, giving them more pause about using him. Jeff McLane of the Philly Inquirer and Reuben Frank of CSN Philly both consider Vick a "long shot" to play in Week 4.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>While the swelling in Vick's non-throwing hand isn't completely down, it's far enough along for him to participate at least on a limited basis. Vick is able to grip the football and take snaps. At this point, we'd be stunned if Vick wasn't under center to start Sunday's game against the Niners. "Dream Team" originator Vince Young will have to continue to wait for playing time.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>"We’ll see," said Reid. "I’ll see in the next little bit. He’s a tough nut." New York leads the NFL in sacks, so this would be a tough matchup to reinsert Vick with two fractured ribs. The Giants would undoubtedly be gunning for his midsection. Our early-week expectation is that Vince Young will start.

Though Fierro's sentiment is the strongest, none of the gaggle of Eagles beat writers believes Vick will play. He doesn't have a history of starting after going the entire practice week without offensive reps. Expect Vince Young to get the call.

His absence from today's walkthrough is a bad initial sign. What he does in practice on Tuesday could make-or-break his Week 13 status.
